Baba Guru Nanak University (BGNU)
Baba Guru Nanak University (BGNU) is a public sector university located in District Nankana Sahib, Punjab, Pakistan. The university is designed to accommodate between 10,000 to 15,000 students from around the world. The foundation stone for the university was laid on October 28, 2019, by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, in commemoration of the 550th anniversary of Guru Nanak Gurpurab. On July 2, 2020, the Government of Punjab formally passed the Baba Guru Nanak University Nankana Sahib Act 2020 (X of 2020).

The university is being developed with the aim of being modeled after world-renowned institutions, with a focus on languages and Punjab Studies. BGNU will offer faculties in "Medicine," "Pharmacy," "Engineering," "Computer Science," "Languages," "Music," and "Social Sciences." An initial allocation of Rupees 6 billion has been earmarked for the project, which will be spent in three phases on the construction of the university. The development work for Phase-I has already commenced, managed by the Communication and Works Department of the Government of Punjab.
In the next phase, the Government of Punjab appointed Dr. Muhammad Afzal as the first Vice Chancellor of BGNU. Since his appointment, the university has signed MOUs with Government Guru Nanak (Post Graduate) College and Government Guru Nanak Associate College for Women to provide technical assistance and temporary use of vacant spaces for university classes until the completion of its academic building, which is under construction.
With the first meeting of the Syndicate held, the university has met most of the statutory requirements to commence its operations. The university is planning to announce admissions for the Fall Semester 2024, with classes set to begin according to the Academic Calendar of 2024. Courses and schemes of study for the approved departments, as decided by the Syndicate, have already been prepared.
Additionally, Baba Guru Nanak University Nankana Sahib has established a Centre of Excellence for Baba Guru Nanak & Sikh Cultural Heritage, along with a dedicated Chair focusing on Punjab Studies.

- Ph.D. in Mathematics or Management Sciences from HEC-recognized institute.
- 15 years teaching/research or professional experience; 10 years post-Ph.D. acceptable.
- 15 HEC-recognized research publications (5 within the last 5 years).

- Ph.D. in relevant field with similar experience and publication requirements as above.

Computer Science & IT (01 Post):
- Ph.D. in IT/Computing.
- 15 years teaching/research/professional experience (5 years teaching mandatory).
- 15 HEC/PEC-recognized publications (5 within the last 5 years).
Associate Professor (BS-20) (Age: 30-50 years)
- Chemistry, English Literature, Punjabi, Psychology, Management Sciences, Computer Science & IT, Fine Arts (01 Post each):
- Ph.D. in relevant field with 10 years teaching/research or professional experience; 5 years post-Ph.D. acceptable.
- 10 HEC-recognized publications (4 within the last 5 years).
Assistant Professor (BS-19) (Age: 25-45 years)
- Computer Science & IT (02 Posts), Zoology (01 Post), English Linguistics (01 Post), English Literature (01 Post), Psychology (01 Post):
- Ph.D. in relevant field.
Lecturer (BS-18) (Age: 21-35 years)
- Various Subjects (Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Management Sciences, Psychology, English Linguistics, English Literature, Islamic Studies, Punjabi, Fine Arts, Computer Science & IT, Graphics Design):
- MS/MPhil in relevant field (Bachelor’s degree for Fine Arts/Graphics Design).
- Applicants with a third division are ineligible unless they hold a Ph.D. and have no more than one third division.

- Ph.D. with 8 years or equivalent qualifications with 10-12 years experience.
